Hot Pursuit
in Paradise
Mitch Baden was a mild-mannered school teacher in an affluent Chicago suburb, three years away from a nice pension and early retirement. That was until the FBI paid him a visit. It seems years ago he had gone to Woodstock and spent the wild weekend with Diana Dorn, a leader in the radical Weatherman faction of the SDS. Somehow the media had gotten ahold of an old 8mm film of Mitch cavorting naked in Yaskur’s pond with the flaming red-headed revolutionary. Now, Dorn has escaped the prison she has been incarcerated in for the last thirty-five years for her part in an armored truck robbery. Even if Mitch convinces the FBI he knows nothing about the whereabout of Dorn, the school board is still demanding his resignation. Without a job, Mitch heads for Florida to work for his older brother Buddy, the owner of Buddy Baden’s RVs of Clearwater. Co-incidentally, the last sighting of Diana Dorn was in Florida and the FBI does not believe in co-incidences. As unsuspecting Mitch drives south, he has the FBI and Diana Dorn’s two daughters on his tail. Before he can figure out what is going on, he is bound and gagged, kidnapped and chased through the Florida Everglades. This all makes for an enjoyable mystery in the Sunshine State.
